Floyd's Holistic Healthcare Series

Beginning January 12th and running every other Tuesday through July 27th, Floyd's diverse network of holistic providers will take turns highlighting their areas of expertise. Each session will run from 7 to 8:30pm with time for questions.

June 22nd
Yin Yoga - What Is It and How Can It Help?
Laura Polant will present a program on yin yoga, a slow, steady and often stationary practice which encourages a sense of core softness and surrender as opposed to Yang Yoga which is more active and concerned with muscle building. Both practices complement each other and serve to fully balance the body, mind and spirit. You'll learn how it can help in your health maintenance program.
July 13th
Six Steps of Healing for the Family
Christina C. DiEno, L.M., midwife, herbalist and homeopath with over 30 years of experience practicing the wise woman tradition with help you learn how to create a home medicine chest for common ailments. She will use Susun Week's Six Step method to explore 5 common modalities of traditional healing while exploring the mind-body-spirit paradigm.
July 27th
Pain Is Your Friend!?
Ivan Anderson of the Healing Tree Wellness Center will talk about pain and provide methods to relieve the most common complaints. All of us experience pain from time to time. Ask yourself, "When was the last time I was pain free?" The CDC reports that 1 in 4 US adults say they suffered a day-long bout of pain in the past month and 1 in 10 say the pain lasted a year or more. How can you identify the signs that pain is on the way and what can you do to live pain free? Ivan will answer these questions and also provide a Shiatsu demonstration.

Call Jessie Peterman Library at 745-2947 for more information about any of these events.
